Rule cross-links open the right rule
  • Rule cross-links open the right rule. Following a link from a weapon trait to a special rule used to leave you on the Weapon Traits tab, showing traits that merely mention the rule you asked for — with no sign anything had gone wrong. It now switches to the tab that holds the rule
  • Printed reference pages keep their content. Printing the rules quick reference silently dropped every section heading, and Army Lists and Special Rules lost their expanded bodies — all of it prints again
  • The reference section reads as one section. Every page now shares the same content width instead of jumping between two, searches that find nothing say so once in one voice, and the formation, unit and detachment pages share one header and one stat block
  • Starting a battle no longer breaks the Game Companion. A unit your list references but the data can't resolve is now skipped with a warning instead of taking the whole page down
  • "Play this list" is back. Open any saved army's Share, Print & Export hub and you can start a game with that army already selected
  • On iPhone, the Print button works on the first tap. It used to do nothing until you tapped it a second time
  • Live games start reliably. Creating one can no longer hang on "Creating…" forever — it now tells you if the connection failed and lets you try again — and your cloud army lists load on a fresh browser instead of coming up empty
  • Printed reference pages are readable. The dark panels — army rules, the core list-building bars, unit and weapon cards — now print as dark text on paper instead of a solid block of ink
  • If your device switches between light and dark while the app is still loading, the app now follows it instead of staying on the old theme
  • Builder tidy-up: the round "?" help button is the same shape in every compliance panel, and on a phone a long legion name no longer prints over the badges next to it
  • Import fixes: an upgrade whose name contains another upgrade's name (like "Additional Auxiliaries with Flamers") now imports as the model you actually picked, casual words like "done" no longer get read as a paint stage, and a project goal whose army list or box has been deleted says so instead of quietly showing 0%

One set of collection switches in the builder
  • Building from your collection is one set of switches now. "Only models I own" and "Only painted models" both filter the slot picker and flag the list, and they read the same in the picker and in the compliance panel — no more two switches that looked alike but disagreed. The on-state is a filled brass pill you can't miss
  • Every dialog reads the same: one style of button, the main action always on the right, the same header and spacing throughout, and footers that stack neatly on small phones instead of squashing
  • Menus and tooltips stay on screen on phones. The reference pages' marker tooltips no longer run off the right edge, and Battle Setup's game-mode and mode rows are compact single-line pickers instead of a wrapped block that ate half the dialog
  • Shared game links open reliably. A live game no longer says "not found" while the app is still connecting — including on the host's own reload — and if a game genuinely can't be reached you get a Try again button instead of a dead end

Attach Tech-Priests and Commanders to eligible hostsThanks to the 7 community members who suggested changes here
  • Titandeath detachment cards now include the equipped Engine Killer surcharge, matching formation and army totals. Prices also refresh when you switch Titandeath on or off.Ian B · Google Forms
  • Acastus Knight Porphyrions can now choose their chest lascannon or autocannon independently of their missiles. Equipped-weapon views show only the selected option.Alasdair · Google Forms
  • Formation and detachment remove buttons now use a trash icon, making them distinct from close and collapse controls. Undo still restores removed entries.
  • Download your collection as a JSON archive or spreadsheet CSV. Both include Simple and Advanced inventories; JSON also keeps projects, proxies and painting history. File import is not currently supported.
  • Tech-Priest Auxilia can attach to an eligible detachment under "Attaches to" and activate with its host. Commanders now offer hosts of the same model type, with the Archmagos exception for Cybernetica Cortex automata, and respect the one-Commander limit. Saved invalid attachments show a warning so you can correct themKneebiter · Google Forms
  • Collection Requirements respects each formation's Legion and counts shared models once. Proxy allocation finds available coverage across units, recognises older Legion tags, and returns models to their own unit when proxies are switched off.
  • Marauder squadrons show their chosen aircraft, wing weapons and collection requirements correctly. Taking the same wing weapon twice keeps both copies in the builder, Target Aid and print views without doubling the aircraft count. Print views also retain mandatory weapons and real defaults, including the Kratos co-axial autocannonsteven · Google Forms
  • Mechanicum and Dark Mechanicum Support slots can hold up to three separate Tech-Priest Auxilia, each with its own attachment. Generated and imported lists use separate entries too. Older grouped entries can be split with "Separate priests", keeping their points and existing links
  • Public shared lists now show each detachment's chosen models and weapons, with their special rules and how many models carry each, instead of only the base datasheet.
  • Print / PDF sheets keep every model's special rules and weapon carriers, list optional reference profiles with a complete weapon glossary, and size the page correctly in Safari.
  • Legend formations with compulsory Apothecaries now show the Medicae rule on exactly the models that carry it — never more Apothecaries than the detachment actually has.
  • Browser pinch-zoom works again on every page — the viewport no longer blocks user scaling, so you can zoom into a datasheet on your phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Legion Companion free to use?

Legion Companion is completely free to use with no ads. It is a fan-made project built for the Legions Imperialis community. However, hosting and running the app is not free — if you find it useful, please consider supporting the project to help keep it going.

Where is my data stored, and does it need a connection?

Your army lists, collection, and game data are saved on the device you're using, and the app keeps working if your connection drops mid-session. Sign in and cloud sync keeps everything in step across all your devices. You can also install it to your home screen like an app. (A full offline cold-start isn't supported yet.)

What armies are supported?

Legion Companion supports Legiones Astartes, Solar Auxilia, Mechanicum Taghmata, Dark Mechanicum, Questoris Familia, Collegia Titanica, and Strategic Assets — covering all current Legions Imperialis factions and updates.

Can I share my army lists?

Yes. You can generate a shareable link for any list, print game-ready tracker sheets, or export lists as text. Cloud sync is also available so your lists follow you across devices.

What devices does it work on?

Any modern device — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. The layout adapts to each screen, and touch, mouse, and trackpad are all fully supported, so it works just as well at the table as it does at your desk.
