Help Shape This App
Legion Companion is a free, fan-made project. Found a bug or have a feature idea? Your reports and suggestions directly shape the app — and if you’d like to help keep it running, there are a few ways to support the project.
Huge thanks to the community for your ideas, bug reports, and big submissions — they directly shape this app. Here's what's landed recently.
20/06/26+5 more updatesA new Support page gathers every way to back the project — buy a coffee, become a member, or spread the word
- •New Support page — all the ways to support Legion Companion in one place: buy a coffee or become a £2/month member, plus free ways to help like spreading the word and sending feedback. Reachable from the nav bar, the footer and the home page
- •Home page polish — the section headings (What's New, FAQ and the rest) now sit dead-centre, the Model Collection and Reference banners are roomier on desktop, and the What's New summaries read more clearly instead of being cut to a terse fragment
- •Game Companion: the welcome banner now matches the Army Builder and Collection headers — the same compact header card and the same primary button, so the app's page headers look consistent
- •The print / PDF view now fits the screen on mobile — the army sheet (and its points column) no longer runs off the edge, and the Print button is always reachable. The printed and saved PDF is unchanged and still comes out identical on any device.
- •Tidied the top navigation so it fits cleanly at every screen width — on mid-size screens the “Sign In” button no longer wraps onto two lines, and the logo no longer gets squashed.
- •Builder › Legion Aerial Assault: fixed false 'needs a Dedicated Transport' warnings — Storm Eagles and Thunderhawks now count toward carrying your Detachments whether bought as Dedicated Transports or taken in Air Support slots, and a Command unit that has joined another Detachment rides with it instead of being told to add its own transport (this last fix also applies to Drop Pod, Subterranean and other transport Formations). Thanks to the Reddit player who reported it
19/06/26+5 more updatesMobile polish — more compact cards and home screen, less scrolling, and a tidier one-row builder toolbar
- •Mobile polish — more compact cards, banners and home page (less scrolling), the army-builder toolbar now fits on one row, and action buttons are consistently sized
- •Fixed modals that could double-scroll or run off the bottom of the screen on mobile, and removed the 'Add to Home Screen' pop-up
- •Turning on army folders now groups by Faction by default, so your folders show up straight away
- •Dedicated Transports now count an attached command's base when checking they carry the whole detachment — a transport sized for the detachment plus its attached command is no longer wrongly flagged
- •A Dracosan armed with the Demolisher cannon now correctly counts as Transport (2) instead of (4) — its dedicated-transport capacity matches the datasheet trade-off for the bigger gun
- •Dropped the “beta” framing from the home page — the app is here to stay and free to use. (The auto-generator stays marked Beta while it matures.)
18/06/26+13 more updatesUnit datasheets now flag official errata — tap the ✱ to see the updated wording and source
- •Projects: tap a project card to open a detailed view — a per-unit breakdown of what's painted, owned and still to buy, the box to buy next, sub-project progress, and an Edit button, all in one place.
- •Magnetised / proxy models now count everywhere they should: project goals, the builder's collection view, Army Stats and the printable Model Inventory no longer tell you to buy models your proxies already cover.
- •Fixed the Print button on the printable view sometimes not opening the print dialog on desktop and mobile.
- •Tidied the Detachments reference key — dropped the self-explanatory “pts” entry so the legend just explains the min–max size badge.
- •The homepage “What’s New” now leads each update with a clear, benefit-led highlight — the full detail is still one tap away on the changelog
- •Reference › Armies: the Core List Building Rules are now a single tidy list — each rule shows a one-line summary you can expand for the full text, with an Expand all / Collapse all toggle
- •Reference pages: the Back button now returns you to wherever you came from (the formation you were viewing, say), instead of always jumping to the section list
- •Reference › Units: a unit’s datasheet now shows the ✱ errata mark next to the unit and any errata’d weapon — tap it to read the official updated wording and source, with a small key shown when the page has one
- •Auto-generated armies no longer trip the transport-capacity warnings — dedicated transports are now sized to exactly what each detachment needs to embark
- •Army Builder: units that come as part of an upgrade now show their full profiles in the editor, and older saved detachments are sorted into the correct slots in List View
- •Collection: paint sub-stages that share a name are no longer merged together when grouping, and a goal whose army list or box has been deleted now tells you so instead of silently sitting at 0%
- •Added Privacy and Terms pages (linked from the footer) explaining what's stored, our use of anonymous analytics, and how to delete your data — and stopped sending your army-list names to analytics.
- •Builder › Formations: transport-required Formations (Drop Pod Assault, Subterranean Assault, Aerial Assault and the like) now require a Dedicated Transport for EACH qualifying detachment — an auto-expanding slot lets you add one per detachment, the list flags any that still needs one, and Auto-generate fields the right number of carriers
- •Polished the action buttons across the app — primary buttons now have a tactile brass-plate finish with a subtle hover sheen, and delete confirmations read as a clearer solid red
Is Legion Companion free to use?
Legion Companion is completely free to use with no ads. It is a fan-made project built for the Legions Imperialis community. However, hosting and running the app is not free — if you find it useful, please consider supporting the project to help keep it going.
Where is my data stored, and does it need a connection?
Your army lists, collection, and game data are saved on the device you're using, and the app keeps working if your connection drops mid-session. Sign in and cloud sync keeps everything in step across all your devices. You can also install it to your home screen like an app. (A full offline cold-start isn't supported yet.)
What armies are supported?
Legion Companion supports Legiones Astartes, Solar Auxilia, Mechanicum Taghmata, Dark Mechanicum, Questoris Familia, Collegia Titanica, and Strategic Assets — covering all current Legions Imperialis factions and updates.
Can I share my army lists?
Yes. You can generate a shareable link for any list, print game-ready tracker sheets, or export lists as text. Cloud sync is also available so your lists follow you across devices.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern device — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. The layout adapts to each screen, and touch, mouse, and trackpad are all fully supported, so it works just as well at the table as it does at your desk.
